At the conclusion of the service (aproximately 11.30 am) she was placed in the Fernwood hearse, and transported over the San Francisco Bay by way of the Richmond San Rafael Bridge, along San Pedro Avenue, over the green and flower strewn hills along Hwy 4, then through the tree-lined suburban Alhambra Ave to the Oakmont Cemetery in Lafayette.
There family member and a small group of friends gathered under the canopy provided by the cemetry and said a final few prayers, followed by the Obligatory Prayer for the Dead beautifully chanted in Arabic by a local Bahá'í of the Contra Costa community.
Her simple, hardwood coffin adorned only with a wooden 9 pointed star made lovingly by long-time friend Ernie Jones, was then lowered into her grave beside the stream flowing through the center of the section of the cemetery where she is close to her long time friend Sherna Vinegrad as was her wishes.
An open celebratory memorial was held in her honor at the Auditorium of the Redwoods Retirement Village, Mill Valley, Sunday 20th April.
